The mission of VISS is to observe, describe, and promote research, analyses, documents, and guidelines on the key themes of the relationship between institutions and society, family and the world of work, individuals and groups, with particular focus on the well-being of younger generations, women, and vulnerable people.

• Promotes research and interventions in the areas of education and training, prevention, clinical and therapeutic practices, social and healthcare services, social policies, associations, and intermediate social bodies, focusing on the family, its resources, needs, and well-being throughout the life cycle

• Promotes, supports, and coordinates interdisciplinary research in family studies and interventions with and for families

• Promotes, supports, and coordinates activities of direct engagement with families and individuals

• Facilitates communication, integration, and knowledge-sharing among scholars from diverse academic backgrounds

VISS addresses several key areas of intervention:

• The Family: the primary social group to which every individual belongs from birth. VISS aims to analyze the family in its current condition, considering demographic, sociological, psychological, economic, and policy dynamics. Attention is placed on the different lifestyles of individuals within families at various life stages (childhood, preadolescence, adolescence, adulthood) as well as on new family models.

• Women and Gender Culture: moving beyond traditional stereotypes and customs to develop and define a gender culture that balances private, professional, individual, and inter-individual life.

• Healthcare: exploring what socio-healthcare assistance will look like in future scenarios, divided between diagnosis, analysis, and interventions entrusted to artificial intelligence and robotics, and the progressive privatization of care.

• New Generations: analyzing new codes of communication emerging from the digital ecosystem; the relationship between traditional education systems and digital learning; the value of degrees in the labor market; and professional opportunities in the era of intelligent machines.
